Marmaris cruise

Starting point for this Marmaris cruise is Marmaris. This port has evolved from a small fishing village to a vibrant touristic destination while keeping its original charm. Most of this charm comes from its unique location, between two mountains and the sea, and from the historic part of town. This is where you’ll find the old castle and narrow alleys which lead to the lively bazaars and local restaurants.

After leaving the vibrant Marmaris we continue our trip to the rustic bays of Arap Adasi (The Arabian Island) and Bozukkale.

The next day we set a course to Datça. This quaint town features a lot of natural beauty and many hidden bays. The town itself has a lively harbour surrounded by limestone houses. The high garden walls shelter lush bougainvillea, next to many almond trees. The most common local produce -besides almonds- are honey and fish, which can be bought in local shops. A visit to Datça isn’t complete without stopping by the old amphitheatre. Your culinary needs are served by the local restaurants that serve freshly caught fish.

The next stop is the bay of Aktur, which many regard as the most beautiful bay of Turkey. Far from the busy touristic places, you can enjoy the silence and the beautiful landscapes. This is also the case in Bençik, a quiet and sheltered anchorage surrounded by pine forests. Bençik is located in the narrow part of the peninsula which separates the Gulf of Hisaronu from the Gulf of Gokova.

Just as beautiful is Dircek Buku. The sheltered bays provide a beautiful view across the Aegean Sea and the Gulf of Hisaronu. Perhaps the best spot to enjoy a freshly caught dorade on the barbecue while enjoying the beautiful sunset.

We raise anchor and sail on to Bozburun, a small fishing town surrounded by rocky, grey coasts. Bozburun is enclosed by the Mediterranean Sea, the Gulf of Hisaronu and the Aegean Sea. This port is known for its sponge trading and gulet yacht building. A visit to the dry docks here will help you find out more about the building of gulet yachts. This is just one of the many attractions Bozburun has to offer, next to a local bazaar, several shops, supermarkets, hotels and restaurants.

After visiting Bozburun we continue on to Kardiga. Around the bay there are many pine trees. Scubadivers and snorkellers are in for a treat, but above water you can enjoy the beautiful scenery.

The Marmaris cruises finishes at Marmaris. There’s more than enough opportunity to enjoy a fresh Mediterranean meal.
